Halloween is such a fun holiday. I love the excuse to get dressed up, and I love being surprised by what everyone has transformed into for a night. It’s such a fun way to create something amazing, have fun, and create some unforgettable memories. I always end up watching The Nightmare Before Christmas, Beetlejuice, Hocus Pocus, Edward Scissorhands, and maybe some super scary movies (depending on how brave I’m feeling), and binging on chocolate for days and days.
In a nod to Halloween, I decided to create a slightly darker and moodier boudoir session, stepping away from my usual light and airy. There are definitely some lighter images in here, but I really did love creating something a little moodier without going too much into the holiday. It’s a homage to the darkness of the holiday while still being all-season appropriate.
We all really had a lot of fun creating this session, and I nailed some awesome double exposures in camera! (I rarely toot my own horn, but I was super excited seeing the results in camera with no artificial layering. It’s so fun!) Layering Grace with her real life wedding vows & florals made for some really compelling images, and I would love to do more of them.
