I mean, who else can hike up a mountain and look this flawless?
(not seen off camera is me, dressed like a camera pack mule, sweating profusely)
Bridal photography is my favorite. Gorgeous ladies in pretty dresses with all of their details and heirlooms. Ahh… So fun to shoot!
Anna is a fellow photographer in Atlanta and she answered my call for a trip up a mountain. Not knowing what she was getting into, Anna willingly let me blindly lead her up this mountain to shoot some film! Seriously, so awesome.
I have to take a minute and say that this shoot wouldn’t have happened if I didn’t have The Rising Tide Society. Also, in a sea of photographers (Atlanta has a LOT; more and more everyday) it is hard to find creatives and make a bond. There really is so much competition. So The Rising Tide Society set against those “industry wide standards” and created a safe place for fellow creatives to chat, meet, and work together. I put out a model call in the hope that someone would want to work together. I obviously had to shoot this skirt, so I needed someone beautiful, creative, and chill.
Then Anna replied! Even though we are both photographers in Atlanta, Anna answered my desperate call, and we probably wouldn’t have met any other way.
So after much sweating and hiking (and pauses), we made it to the top of the mountain, shot some film (some digital for backup; and I didn’t have to use any! Yay!) and chatted about photography and shooting medium format film. These are all things near and dear to my heart.
The incredible Dale Jones from All Occasion Flowers in Clarkesville, GA provided the gorgeous blush, peach, and green bouquet. So obviously I couldn’t have been more pleased! Most of all, the rings were true vintage rings (which makes them even more cool): The engagement ring was Anna’s grandmother’s, and the band was mine. It looks like they were meant to go together, and she wore them so beautifully! I seriously couldn’t have prayed for a better shoot. We had a good time, and I think it really shows in how the photos came out.
