Happy New Year! It’s 2018!
We say goodbye to 2017, which some people claim was the worst year (I think people say that every year), but I really didn’t mind it. In fact, 2017 was pretty kind to me.
I started having a self-proclaimed “word” of the year to help myself stay focused on what I want to achieve within my life and business. Last year, 2017, my word was “GROWTH”, and grow I did.
Business-wise, I rebranded, did countless styled shoots, met so many friends and clients and client-friends, rented a gorgeous studio, got published a few times, learned more about medium format film, fell in love with film even more, and booked some amazing clients.
This year, my word is “TRAVEL”.
Quick story about me.
I was seventeen when I graduated high school, and dilly-dallied with what I wanted to do. I played around with photography, but mostly kept it as a hobby while finishing up some general ed classes at community college. I went to nursing school when I was twenty five, and graduated at twenty seven (WHAT? Yes, I’m also a nurse!). I married at twenty seven, had my first baby at twenty eight, and had my second baby at thirty. That’s some great nutshelling huh?
In short, I am now thirty one (this year turning thirty two), and I want to travel.
I had no time during those intense years in the last half of my twenties and leading into thirties for anything. This year, I want to travel. I want to take my babies, I want to go without my babies. I want to travel with my husband, and alone. I want to expand my comfort zone. I want to take photos everywhere on this beautiful planet. I want to travel near and far, domestically and internationally. It would be amazing if some beautiful, fantastic clients would book me abroad, but even if they don’t, I’m going.
I have travel bucket list places, but I know for sure that I am going to France. Paris to be exact. It’s already booked!
I’d love to go to Ireland, Italy, New Zealand, Spain, Japan, Thailand, Germany, Israel, England, Greece… even domestically I’d love to visit Oregon, Washington, California, Maine, and Colorado… I want to see the deserts and the cities. I want to see the ancient places that are so rich with culture and beauty that lies outside of the United States’ borders.
It’s going to happen!
What are your bucket list places to travel?
